Vintage Chargeurs Reunis (Shippers United?) Posters are a great way to decorate your living space in a maritime or travel theme. The company was founded in 1872 in Le Havre, France. Their passenger ships sailed from Le Havre to Brazil, Argentina, New York, West Africa, and Indo-China. In 1916, they took over the the South Atlantic Navigation Company (Compagnie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique), which ran ocean liners from Bordeaux to Brazil and La Plata, Argentina. In 1927, the owners of the Fabre Line acquired the company in hostile takeover, but in 1937 became independent again. After failing to take over Aeropostale in 1933, the company founded Aeromaritime, which flew flying boats from France to West Africa and Brasil. From 1964 to 1976, the company, took over several other shipping companies, including Fraissinet, Societe Generale des Transport Maritimes (SGTM), Navigation Paquet, and Union Navale, to boost its feight handling capacity.
