Vintage Halloween Posters are a great way to celebrate the gala occasion and decorate your room, apartment, or residence in a holiday style. Halloween, or Hallowe'en, is a contraction of All Hallows Eve (or Even), another name for All Saints Eve (the evening before All Saints Day). Much of the symbolism attached to Halloween is derived from paganism, and in particular from the Celtic celebration of Samhain, which was the primary harvest festival celebrating the end of summer. The dead and other spirits, good and bad, were thought to return on Samhain - it is surmised that the wearing of masks and costumes originated as disguises against baleful spirits.
