Vintage Holland-America Line Posters are a great way to decorate your living space in a maritime or travel theme. The Holland-America Line (or Holland-Amerika Lijn) was formed in 1872 as the Dutch-American Steamship Company, carrying passengers and freight between Rotterdam and the Americas. One of the most famous artists to design posters for the Holland-America was the Art Deco master A.M. Cassandre. Holland-America got into the vacation cruise business early as an adjunct to its transaltlantic passenger service, offering a vacation tour to the Holy Land in 1910. In 1971, the company suspended its passenger service and sold off its freight business, choosing to focus entirely on the cruise ship business. In 1989, it became a subsidiary of Carnival Corp., and is now based in Seattle, Washington.
