Vintage Mercedes Posters are a great way to decorate your living space an automobile, German, or nostalgic theme. The Mercedes automobile was first manufactured in 1901 by Daimler Motors. The car was named after the daughter of Emil Jellinek, who sat on Daimler's board. When the Mercedes 35 hp was introduced in 1900, it featured many advances over the "horseless carriages" of the day, including a lower center of gravity, a longer and wider wheelbase, electric ignition, and a motor mounted on the chassis. In 1926, Daimler Motors and Benz & Company merged to form the Daimler-Benz company, with Mercedes-Benz as its automobile brand. Both companies had been deeply involved in car racing from early on, with Daimler finishing 1-2-3 in the 1914 French Grand Prix and Benz at one time holding the land speed record of 228.1 km/h (114.7 mph), a tradition that has continued to this day. During WWII, the company manufactured airplane, tank, and submarine engines. Satisfaction is guaranteed.* Orders are 100% secure.* Click any thumbnail to view a larger version or make a purchase.
