Vintage Chemin de Fer de Paris a Orleans Railway Posters are a great way to decorate your living space in a railway, travel, or French theme. The Chemin de Fer de Paris a Orleans, or either Chemin de Fer d'Orleans or simply P.O., for short, was founded in 1838 to connect Paris and southwest France (with rail reaching Orleans in 1843). Other destinations served included Bordeaux, Auvergne, Aurillac, Nantes, Angers, Cahors, Touraine et Berry, Clermont-Ferrand, Bourges, and Orsay. At its height, it had a rail network of close to 12,000 kilometers. The C.F. Paris a Orleans merged with the C.F. du Midi in 1934, becoming the C.F. de Paris a Orleans et du Midi (or Paris to Orleans and the South Railway), which was then absorbed into the Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais (The National Society of French State Railways), or the SNCF, in 1938.
