Vintage C.F. PLM (Paris-Lyon-Mediterranee) Railway Posters are a great way to decorate your living space in a railway, travel, or French theme. The Chemin de Fer Paris-Lyon-Mediterranee railway (chemin de fer means "railway" in French) was created between 1858 and 1862 and was one of six major French railways prior to 1938, each with a geographic monopoly. Its main line ran between Paris and the Cote d'Azur, running through Dijon, Lyon, and Marseille. The PLM was absorbed into the national state railway, the SNCF (Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais) in 1938. From 1922 to 1932, the PLM commissioned Roger Broders, sponsoring his travel, to design many posters for them (far more than any other artist).
