Vintage Bicycle Posters
Vintage Bicycle Posters were a very popular during the bicycling craze of the 1890s. Classic cycling prints emphasized the personal liberty the bicycle provided, especially to women. Bicycle companies, such as Cycles Gladiator, Perfecta, J.B. Louvet, Terrot, Clement, Sirius, Peugeot, and Meteore, also pioneered the mass manufacturing techniques that were later applied to the manufacture of automobiles and airplanes. Poster designers who frequently designed posters featuring bicycles include Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, Leonetta Cappiello, Henri Gray, Jules Cheret, Henri Gray, Jean de Paleologue (Pal), Alphonse Mucha and other various vintage poster artists.
